Charollais New Members Day

On Sunday 2nd September 2012 Churchill farm hosted a new members day for Charollais Sheep breeders from the South-West, Central, Welsh and Eastern Region.  The day was a resounding success with over 120 people attending.

People were split into four groups where they had the opportunity to find out what makes a good Charollais from the National Chairman, Mr Robert Gregory; they watched a trimming demonstration from Mr Geraint Davies; listened to marketing advice from McCartney's Auctioneers Mr Clive Roads and Mr Chris Jones as well as hearing what sheep went through at NSA inspections by Mr Brian Davies.  Amy and Amelia also showed members how to tattoo sheep.

A prize raffle was held with prizes kindly being donated by Shearwell Data, Horner Shearing, Mole Valley Farmers, Tuckers Country Store, Burgon & Ball, Matford Landrover, Southern Timber, Pennywell Farm, BOCM Pauls and many other generous companies.  All the proceeds (nearly £400) were donated to Devon Air Ambulance, who were also celebrating their 20th Anniversary the same weekend.
